About Volunteering for FORWARD

FORWARD relies upon the support of volunteers to carry out its valuable work to stop gender based discriminatory practices affecting African women and girls in the UK and Africa. Volunteering for FORWARD is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to gain experience in the voluntary sector and insight into the work of an International NGO.

FORWARD Volunteers carry out a variety of tasks, such as general administrative and information and campaigning work at our friendly London office.

FORWARD Internships provide good opportunities for university students or graduates who have relevant skills and knowledge to gain work experience related to their study and career interests. The work available to interns depends on our project needs at the time of application and the particular experience and skills of the intern applicant.

The schedule for volunteer placements and internships is flexible and volunteers and interns usually work roughly twelve hours a week with a minimum commitment of three months, within our office hours of Monday to Friday 10 - 5. Travel and lunch expenses are paid.

We often recruit volunteers or interns for a variety of tasks and sometimes for a specific role. Any volunteer ** vacancies ** are listed here, to apply please follow the instructions below.

Applying to Volunteer

If you are interested in applying for a voluntary position or internship please email or post to FORWARD a CV and cover letter outlining the the relevant skills and experience you have, when and for how long you will be available, and if it is for a general position the kind of work you would most like to be considered for.

Please do not contact us regarding volunteering many months in advance of the time that you will be available because this far ahead we will not be in a position to know whether opportunities will exist.
