International Zero Tolerance to FGM Day - 6 Feb 2008

This joint event by FORWARD and BEN TV's Woman's Hour Programme is in solidarity with our partners in Africa in marking International Zero Tolerance to FGM Day - 6 February 2008.

The 6th of February has been adopted by the UN Sub-Commission on Human Rights as the International Day on Zero Tolerance to FGM. The International Conference on Zero Tolerance to FGM held in Addis Ababa in 2003 by the Inter Africa Committee on Harmful Practices (IAC) agreed to commemorate this day to strategize, reflect and deliberate on FGM, and re-new our commitment to end this rights violation. We endorse IAC's theme for the 2008 event "Partnering with the Media to reach Zero Tolerance to FGM".
