A Seminar on FGM, Asylum and Refugee Policies in the UK30 Jan 2009 Female genital mutilation (FGM) is globally recognised as a human rights violation and a form of gender-based persecution. This seminar aims to clarify and assess UK policies and realities in relation to FGM asylum, refugees and young women. This seminar targets practitioners, policy makers and key agencies. The seminar is part of an on-going project funded by the European Commission Daphne Programme on improving FGM legislation and actions in Europe. The seminar will include:
