King Chiozo and the Warriors26 Mar 2004 FORWARD (Foundation for Women's Health, Research & Development) is proud to support King Chiozo, Bob Marley's successor in concert at the Mean Fidler ASTORIA, Charing Cross Road on 26th March 2004, tickets 10.00. Chiozo, a Malawian born musician and social development activist is performing to raise funds for a number of charitable organizations, these are - FORWARD, Nyumba Ya Thanzi (a health charity for Malawi) and Umodzi (a nutrition charity for Malawi). Chiozo is a man that FORWARD is keen to work with to ensure that men take more of an active role in securing rights of women and girls. Chiozo's popularity as a performer is growing and hopefully a lot of men will emulate his stance against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and other violations of the rights of African women and girls. Chiozo is concerned about a range of issues that affect the world but he recognizes that addressing women's issues goes a long way to solving all the world's problems, and accepts that women and girls rights are human rights. As "King of Africa" he knows that it's only right to lead by example, therefore reggaes up and coming superstar is more than willing to be trained by FORWARD and to campaign against FGM. |
