New FORWARD UK Project - Filling the Gap

KCW (Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster) Health Authority have awarded FORWARD a six month grant to conduct a survey in this borough amongst health professionals and communities who practise FGM. In order to effectively help Eritrean, Sudanese, Somalian and Ethiopian communities, the survey aims to identify their needs in terms of care, knowledge and attitude in relation to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Filling the information gap between communities and professionals regarding FGM has become vital. This is being carried out by Eunice Munanie, FORWARD's research co-ordinator who joined us in January 2000.
