Advice, Support and Specialist Health Care for Girls and Women Affected by FGMIf you have personal experience of, or know of anyone who has undergone FGM, FORWARD can provide support, advice and information about accessing specialist health care and counselling for girls and women affected by FGM. There are a number of specialist clinics run by experienced professionals that offer specialist health care and help girls and women affected by FGM. These clinics offer gynaecological and routine antenatal care for African women. Most also offer de-infibulation ('reversal') services. These clinics are run by sensitive female staff who understand about FGM and what women have undergone, and translation services are available. FORWARD is staffed by sensitive and approachable African women who as well as English speak Arabic and several other African languages.
