This research project aims to develop a deeper understanding of the practice of Female Circumcision in the UK by exploring the perceptions, knowledge, attitudes and experiences of young people between the ages of 16 and 25 years.

FORWARD is undertaking a survey which seeks, specifically:

To obtain a sense of young people’s knowledge of, and attitudes to, Female Circumcision;
To assess the scope of Female Circumcision in the UK by collecting data on young people’s experiences;
To develop a deeper understanding of young people’s experiences of accessing services relating to Female Circumcision.

The findings of the survey will help inform the planning of awareness programmes and support the needs of young women who are at risk, or affected by, Female Circumcision in the UK.

Confidentiality and Voluntary Participation

Please note that the information that you provide is entirely confidential and if you provide your identity during the research it will not be disclosed to any third parties. All data will be handled by the research team. Please note: You are not obliged to take part in this study, and are free to withdraw at any time. If you withdraw you may do so without any obligation to give a reason.

There are two versions of the questionnaire for males and females. Please ensure that you access the appropriate version.
