We can provide leaflets and information about FGM and our work to assist your fundraising activities. A variety of local organisations, be it a student group or community action organisations organise fundraising events on our behalf. For example, over the last year a number of student groups have organised showings of the film Moolaade, and raised money for us this way. If you are interested in also doing this please contact us and we can help! Other ways in which student groups have raised money for us include hosting club nights and fashion shows! 4. Help to promote awareness of gender-discriminatory practicesIf you are a member of a local student or community group perhaps you would like to support FORWARD and promote awareness of gender-discriminatory practices through your organisation. If you would like to hold a discussion or seminar in your local area we can provide leaflets and information about FGM and FORWARD's work, and on some occasions a speaker. As mentioned above, we could also assist you to raise awareness and fundrais for FORWARD by organising a showing of the film Moolaade. You could also write an article for a local magazine or newspaper to increase awareness and understanding of practices affecting African girls and women. When doing this it is necessary to do so in a sensitive manner and please ensure that you have sufficient understanding of FGM and the associated isues. Please refer to the FORWARD FGM resources for information that can help you, and we would love to hear about anything you would like to get printed, and would be happy to assist you with information you may require. 5.
