Young women’s leadership

Young women’s leadership

We believe that nurturing and building the capacity of the next generation of African women leaders is essential to achieving sustainable social change.

Our leadership and empowerment programmes provide both leadership training and mentorship. We grow the capacity of young women to be change-makers in their communities and countries using the knowledge and skills gained from the leadership training reinforcing their confidence and activism by supporting them to take individual actions to fight VAWG in their communities. This could include building networks and harnessing the power of social media to raise awareness of the key issues they are championing.

We support young African women in the UK, as well as in Africa. We have implemented leadership and engagement programmes in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somaliland, England, Scotland and Wales.

TuWezeshe Akina Dada Programme

TuWezeshe Akina Dada is an Africa-UK Young Women’s feminist leadership programme seeking to inspire a generation of young African women to engage in the civil and political spheres and galvanise collective action against all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
