At FORWARD, we work directly with women and girls, community leaders, Community Champions and grassroots organisations to identify needs, priorities and solutions. Our Community Champions model supports women from affected communities to lead conversations and influence change within their own communities.
We work closely with grassroots and specialist organisations, faith and community networks and statutory partners. This enables us to listen to a wider range of community voices and collectively advocate for improvements in services and policy. This event is in collaboration with Home Girls Unite and Refugee Women of Bristol. We are grateful for The Lottery Community Fund for sponsoring this event.
The day includes the official launch of the FORWARD Community Champions Network, reflections from champions themselves, the presentation of certificates to our newest cohort and a wellness workshop featuring Ethiopian Dance which kicks off a series of events as part of our new Arts Council of England project Artists Unite to End Abuse Against African Girls & Women.
