Historic UN vote brings end to FGM closer for No Peace Without Justice campaign

It is a landmark move that cannot go unmarked on these pages.

The decision by the UN’s Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs Committee to adopt the draft resolution, “Intensifying Global Efforts for the elimination of female genital mutilations,”  almost guarantees adoption of the resolution by the full global body in December.

Adoption of the draft resolution that was submitted by a group of African nations, led by Burkina Faso, in October represents the culmination of years of advocacy work by No Peace Without Justice and its partners.
