International Women’s Day 8th March 2012

FORWARD is celebrating International Women’s Day by congratulating and remembering the unsung African heroines. These women persevere against all odds to have a positive impact and make a difference to the lives of other African women and girls affected by female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage and obstetric fistula.

FORWARD works to safeguard the dignity, health and rights of all African women and girls, particularly those at risk in rural and urban poor areas. FORWARD’s important and inspiring work in Sierra Leone and Liberia in partnership with IPPF was covered by CNN, as part of their International Women’s Day features.
