Young Women’s Leadership (Europe)

Young Women’s Leadership (Europe)

We are excited to announce that the applications for our Europe-wide TuWezeshe Akina Dada (Spotlight) Leadership Programme 2021 are now open!

TuWezeshe Akina Dada is led by FORWARD in partnership with UNFPA, Akili Dada (Kenya), Think Young Women (the Gambia) and the End FGM European Network (Europe). The programme provides bespoke leadership and mentoring for young women who are passionate about ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

We are now encouraging applications for our Europe-based programme, which is available for young women from FGM-affected communities based in the UK, France, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands and Spain. The fellowship will provide the successful applicants with the opportunity to gain core leadership and research skills, receive training in advocacy and campaigning, and implement their own funded ‘Social Action Project’ in the form of research about FGM. As organisations committed to amplifying the voices, advocacy and talent of diaspora young women, our leadership programme offers participants the chance to influence change to end FGM, learn about sexual-reproductive health, develop project management skills, network with other inspiring young women leaders in Europe, and share ideas, voices, and stories.

The fellowship programme will be co-facilitated in English and French. French speaking young women are strongly encouraged to apply.
