BAMER woman 18-30 y/o, with the drive to advocate against violence against women and girls?
FORWARD the UK’s leading African led organisation working to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and other forms of violence against African women and girls, is recruiting community volunteers (women and men) for our new European project which aims to improve the prevention, protection and support of migrant women affected by these issues.
In light of today’s news that the mother of a three-year-old girl has become the first person in the UK to be found guilty of female genital mutilation (FGM), FORWARD, a London based African women’s organisation, raises concerns and is surprised that there seems to be general rejoicing that a successful prosecution on FGM has finally happened in the UK
FORWARD was recently asked to comment on the issue of breast ironing amongst African communities in Scotland, following a Scottish Government consultation on FGM which also covered the issue of breast ironing.
FORWARD’s response to the current FGM case of a three year old girl undergoing FGM in the UK to Ugandan/Ghanaian parents and the apparent links to witchcraft
We at FORWARD would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have shown us in 2018 and to share with you some highlights from 2018 and also ask for your help this Christmas with fundraising to support child brides in Ethiopia, read more by clicking here.
